Project Description: Innovation-Driven Business Model
The major project this semester will be to develop an innovative business idea and model. The innovations can be in the technology and/or business model related to a product or service, but the idea must include a biological or chemical technology.
This will be a team-based project with four MBA students on each team. Teams will be formed during the first class. In addition, each group will team up with an upper-class undergraduate science major who will help with technical analysis and descriptions. You will use the Team Standards guidelines learned in CSBT/OBBT to guide your group work.
Each team will be expected to generate several ideas using tools learned from reading and in class, and to select the idea that seems most promising. The team will develop a business model using the business model canvas from Business Model Generation, including key drivers for each of the nine building blocks. The team will generate an initial assessment of the opportunity using tools learned in the reading and in class.
